Mihnea Rog, at only 20 and a cybernetics student, is a local newcomer stepping into the electronic music scene. Juggling academics and an active lifestyle, he prioritizes his deep-rooted passion for music.

What drives you?

I constantly strive to improve myself, believing that there is always room for growth. Music is my sanctuary; I spend as much time as I can immersed in it. I'm convinced that my extensive listening has significantly shaped my tastes.

What kind of music speaks to you?

I'm drawn to music that's stripped down yet powerful, a blend of raw and soulful, with a hint of uniqueness or an unusual twist. This combination really resonates with me.

Are there any specific genres you’re drawn by? 

I primarily gravitate toward tech house and techno, alternating between the two, but I also find inspiration in trance, progressive, and trip hop. These genres offer a broad spectrum that fuels my creativity.

What inspired you to pursue this passion?

It's hard to pinpoint a specific person. For me, it's the indescribable feeling I get when I'm playing music; when everything else fades away and I'm certain this is what I want to do for life. This feeling is intensified when I experience brilliant live sets, like I did with Rhadoo playing at Holiday Mood 3-4 years ago, and Suciu at Sunwaves in Olimp.  

Who do you admire the most?

I respect many artists from the local scene for their dedication to developing a unique sound. But my greatest admiration is for UK artists from the golden era, like Terry Francis, Gideon Jackson, and Mark Broom. Their work from that period set me on my current path and opened doors to discovering more incredible music.

Your all-time favorite track?

Without a doubt, it's "Hardcore Player" by Gideon Jackson.
