'For The Record' is one of the GH blog series dedicated to digging. In each episode, the Guesthouse team introduces an artist and selects 10 tracks from their music library. We turned to The Mountain People ahead of their club visit, as they have quite a cool bunch of releases from their start in 2006.
Dj name: The Mountain People.
Label? The Mountain People.
Tracks: mostly called ‘Mountain 001-017’.
That's a lot of mountains.
And the home for this landscape is nonetheless Switzerland.
This music has a specific timeless air to it and transports you in an instant.
Nuff talking, let’s dive into the playlist.
Mountain 011.1: its stomping groove work wonders. when in doubt, play this record.
Firebomb: magnificent signature bassline, dreamy deep pads, soft whispers plus a delightful acid touch.
Mountain 017.1: A timeless house masterpiece.
Mountain 011.2: Bright and positive, thanks to snappy drums, dreamy chord stabs and a catchy female vocal snippet.
Mountain 005.2: Morning nightclubbing slowly morphing and growing over Kerri Chandler-style rhythms.
Mountain 013, La Onda: lands on the classier end of that summer-friendly, loop-based spectrum.
La Colline: probably one of the best closing tracks, wrapping you up in warm breaks.
Mountain 003: Piercing and straightforward.
Mountain 008.1: literally a class on minimalism: less is so much more.
The Mountain People - Ocean Me: Steals the show. A proper anthem.
It's a delight having The Mountain People join us at the club this Saturday. Not to be missed (tickets sold at the door).
